Poster Design
Here's a poster I designed using Adobe Photoshop. While the band is the real deal, this poster is totally fake news. There is no named tour for 2019.
Image Effects
As part of the E-Learning Heroes weekly challenge, I've uploaded a few of my favorite ways to use stock photos for slide decks and e-learning courses.
Partial Backdrop
I'm using the solo cup as a backdrop on the parts-to-a-whole interactivity. I downloaded the stock graphic, changed the colors, and made the image semi-transparent. Then I overlaid the hotspots.
Once the base image and hotspots are in place, I can look at the amount of information I want to share for each part. If the text for each sub-topic fits in the text placeholder to the right, I simply replace that text with a heading and the new text.
If the information exceeds the amount of space available on the base layer, I set up the activity to open a new layer each time the user selects a part. That layer would have an "X" or close button depending on the overall design that has been agreed to.

Full Backdrop
If the content calls for a motivational piece, or quote, I like to use a full backdrop with text laid over the image. In this case, I downloaded a stock photo, changed the colors, and cropped the image.
In Photoshop, I then added an image mask, a solid background color layer, and a text layer for the lyrics. I burned out the image mask under the lyrics so the text was easier to read. Finally, I added another text layer on top of the image for the artist name and song title.

Overlays
Here are a few examples showing images with text overlays. Before and after images demonstrate use of text, lines, shapes, and layering techniques to make a message visually appealing and more memorable.
Edits
Below are photos I took and touched up in Adobe Photoshop.
